WHEN Ian Young sat down next to a beautiful woman in a packed cafe in Kuala Lumpur, he had no idea they would one day be married.

But Fatine, who married Ian in a civil partnership, faces deportation back to Malaysia after her Leave to Remain visa was rejected by the Home Office over an “incorrect” photograph.

Now, the love story has sparked so much hate back home that she fears to return. Worst is yet to come; she may face action by the Immigrations Department when she returns to Malaysia if she has violated laws here, said department director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman.

I’m not looking at how inconsiderate people are when dealing with this problem, nor am I looking at what should be expected. I show the story that it is possible to find true love and this is super romantic…

I was overwhelmed by her striking eyes and exotic features – she was gorgeous. We started talking and I was immediately impressed by how good her English was. When she got up to leave I asked for her number and that’s when she told me. She said she might not be what I was looking for, and that she was actually a transsexual.

She didn’t hide. She is openly about her condition

It doesn’t matter to me that she is a transsexual, it’s the person she is inside that I care about and love.
