Mistrial declared in Duanna Johson’s case
McRae, a former Memphis Police Officer, allegedly wrapped handcuffs around his fist and punched Johnson in the head and pepper sprayed her after Johnson was arrested for prostitution in February 2008.
U.S. District Judge S. Thomas Anderson declared the mistrial on Monday (19 April 2010) after jurors deadlocked 11-1 in favor of finding Bridges McRae guilty of violating the civil rights of Dwayne “Duanna” Johnson, The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Tuesday.
In November 2008, Johnson, 43, was fatally shot in Memphis. No arrests have been made.
